Therapeutic Properties of Zircon
Zircon is also known by the name Jacinth.
Ancient people considered Zircon as an important gemstone for travelers.
Jacinth was believed to protect the wearer from lightning, robbery, bodily harm
and the dreaded plague. It was supposed to have the special property of dulling
in its sheen if the wearer or someone near to him was infected with disease.
Rubbing the gem in a cross across food was said to expel demons when the person
ate the food, so it is sometimes associated with repelling witchcraft.
